The wench reports from her new undercover assignment ...

Don't breathe a word of this, but I wanted to alert you that I attended a secret meeting of the Brethren of the Coast, held behind the George Town Library last Saturday morning, and rumor has it that another invasion of the Cayman Islands is being planned!

You must promise to keep this to yourself. If word were to leak out, it could mean dire consequences for us all. (They hang pirates in chains, you know!)

Apparently piracy on the high seas has not been very lucrative of late, and the brethren have shifted their sights landward. If truth be told, they're also hankerin' for a little fun and merriment on shore!

Anyhow, word is that they're aimin' to come ashore on October 25th, but I'll keep you posted as plans firm up.

The wench details the Invasions Plans ...

Again, I must warn you to keep this in strictest confidence, lest word of our plans leak out to the unsuspecting townspeople of the Cayman Islands, but today I was again privy to a meeting to plan the Pirate Invasion. It will indeed take place on Saturday, October 25th, at 3:00 PM in Hogsty Bay.

It seems that the Pirates Week Committee (Surely you've seen the Pirates Week page by now) has planned to stage an invasion "pageant" at that time, and unbeknownst to them, the true Brethren of the Coast have infiltrated their ranks of "play pirates" to turn the course of the invasion to our advantage.

The Committee's big mistake was inviting King Neptune and his Mermaids to take part in the event. The King can never resist flaunting his treasure for all to envy, and since he has claimed so many of our own men, ships, and treasures lost at sea, we think it only fair that we relieve him of what we believe is rightfully ours in any case.

Regardless, plans are in the works for The Brethren to stow away aboard the three ships comprising the Invasion Fleet, and I am in charge of recruiting a legion of pirates and wenches to assist from shore.

We think we can count on the Mermaids to aid our cause, and we know we can rely upon the Turtles round about these waters. (They've been known to save a man overboard from sharks on a number of occasions.)

The Tampa Rough Riders are joining our cause, and as the date of the Invasion approaches, the ranks of The Brethren will swell.

It will be the most glorious invasion in history!

West Bay, 17 October 1997

Final Alert! ...

In all likelihood, this will be my last message prior to the invasion. I have been abroad in an attempt to round up additional invasions forces, but I returned in time for the final meetings of the Brethren in preparation for the event.

The Pirate invasion of Grand Cayman is still planned for 3:00 PM at Hog Sty Bay in George Town on Saturday, October 25th.

We'll assemble under the gnip tree in town at 2:00 PM and infiltrate the various groups from there. There will be a wedding party at the North Terminal, the Governor and his party at the South Terminal, and the Lt. Governor and his entourage down toward Eden Rock, as well as the ships coming in from sea.

It will be grand! Join us if you can!
